A number of airlines travel between the U.S. and Costa Rica daily (from San Francisco,Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Orlando, New York, Atlanta, Salt Lake City,and New Orleans, among others). There are numerous travel websites (Expedia, Travelocity, Kayak, etc.) with which you can book international travel,or you can contact the airlines directly, either on-line or by phone. In addition, you may contact your local travel agent to review schedules and fares.
You will need a passport from your country of citizenship. If you do not have a passport, please review the following websites for information on how to obtain one: americanpassport.com, passportsandvisas.com, passportvisaexpress.com, lastminutepassports.com, or passportexpress.com. You may also contact your local U.S. Post Office for information or visit usps.com. Please keep in mind that the usual timeframe to obtain a U.S. passport is approximately six weeks. However, for an additional fee, you can apply for an expedited passport and receive it in seven to ten days, sometimes even faster.
With a passport from the following countries, visitors are allowed to stay in Costa Rica for 90 days without a visa: Canada, the U.S., Argentina, Israel, Japan, Panama,and most Western European countries. In addition, citizens with a passport from the following countries may stay in Cost Rica for 30 days without a visa: Mexico, Russia, New Zealand, South Africa and Venezuela. If you would like to stay longer than your passport allows, you may leave Costa Rica for 72 hours and re-enter with "a clean slate."
The Juan Santa Maria International airport (airport code is SJO) is located near to the city of San Jose, Costa Rica. Clients will be met by Costa Rica New Hope representatives on arrival and will be transported to our facility. The travel time from the airport is about 30 minutes. The exact location of the facility will only be provided to clients or immediate family, so that we may protect the privacy of our clients.
